Is it a safe activity for children? We have been working with children as young as 4 years old for almost 20 years now. We have not seen one major accident. (Very rarely - splinters and small scratches. Nothing a 'band aid' and some TLC can't fix.)Do you need a special room in the school to set up?No, any classroom, multipurpose room, hall or the like will do. Simply push the classroom desks to the side of the room and we will set up in the centre. A room without carpet is best, but not essential.Do the children use the tools, or do they watch you using them? The children do everything. Sawing is easier than writing or riding a bike. If they have never done it before, they will be an expert after their first class.Does it suit all age levels?Yes. Although woodwork has been done through the centuries and has mainly been an adult activity, we have developed a very simple yet extremely effective and exciting program for children. We have now introduced over half a million children to the joys of woodworking and building.Does the school's classroom teacher need prior woodwork experience? No. Our instructors assume no prior experience. We will lead the students and the teachers through the safe use of every tool. We encourage teachers to get involved. This way they learn at the same time. Can my child get an electric shock working with the motors?Definitely not. We only use up to 3 volt batteries. I t is very difficult for any person to even detect a slight 'tingle' with such a low voltage. Can my two children (aged 5 & 9) work together in the same school holiday program room?Yes, we encourage this. Our programs are non-competitive and from our experience, children love working together and sharing this common experience.
